INTERSCHOOL TOURNAMENT - STORM
Team Justus STORM
takes 3rd place
at the Bobby Lawrence Karate Fall Tournament
takes 3rd place
at the Bobby Lawrence Karate Fall Tournament
The STORM team came through with a stellar performance at the tournament! They were the first ones up and did an awesome job getting the crowd going!! The sound system had some problems but you would never guess with the way the team handled themselves so professionally! We heard so many great comments on the caliber of this years team from various school owners, parents and other BLK students. People are constantly talking on how sharp, crisp and acrobatic BLK Lindon team members are and we were so proud of each of you!
They looked awesome and did a great job implementing the new parts to the ever popular Jedi routine. They are right on track for an amazing performance at the new year half time show.
They are definitely doing a great job on the Special Team of Role Models!
PART ONE
PART TWO (do to a shortage of memory, we had a small gap in the performance)

INTERSCHOOL TOURNAMENT - SWAT
takes 2nd place!!!
at the Bobby Lawrence Karate Fall Interschool Tournament
Wow!!!! It was so impressive to watch our young team compete at the tournament. For all but one member, this is their FIRST year being a part of the BLK Lindon SWAT team (and even our solo returning member has only been on for 2 years). They are a very young team both in level and age compared to the other teams but their hard work, focus and commitment definitely shined through!! They also just implemented a new demo that they are working on for a upcoming half time show in February.at the Bobby Lawrence Karate Fall Interschool Tournament
They looked fantastic. Way to go team!!

JUSTUS TUMBLING
I believe that in order to be a good teacher, you need to work on continually improving yourself in your studies. I had a great time this weekend working on my kicks & tricks with my kids.

BLK Lindon Black Belt Pre-Test 8.2008
Last month we hosted our Bobby Lawrence Karate Lindon Black Belt test. This serves as a test for those working through their provisional status and as a pre-test for those wanting to advance to the regional test. We had a large group this round and each of them had to complete:
- physical fitness portion (run, push ups, sit ups, pull ups)
- kata (forms)
- self defense techniques
- overall preparedness
The testing is an intense forum which follows years of practice and learning. This is an important point to gage whether or not we feel that they are ready to test at the regional test and then ultimately the national test.
Congratultions to the Ban Bu's who passed their test and Good luck to all of you advancing to the regional test.

LEADERSHIP MEMBER - Kayla Bevard
We would like to take the chance to highlight one of our wonderful leadership team members - Kayla Bevard.
Kayla just celebrated her 16th birthday and we are so proud to have had Kayla as a member of the Lindon leadership team. She has been with us since we opened and has studied karate with Justus for over 7 years! She is an extremely hard worker, great motivator and caring instructor. We know we can always count on Kayla to be our best cheerleader! She is a fantastic example of what the Leadership Team is all about.
Kayla will be testing for her 3rd degree black belt this fall and we look forward to being their and cheering her on.
